Lost & Found Policy

1. What happens with found property:

  1. Property found will be recorded in the Lost And Found Property Log Book.

  2. Lost property will be kept securely for 28 days from the date of loss.

  3. Found property shall not be loaned out to customers.

  4. Any found property, which is unhygienic or soiled, shall be disposed of immediately.

  5. If the property is identifiable such as a purse with telephone number in, the Duty Manager/Supervisor will arrange for the customer to be contacted, informing that the item has been found.

  6. If a Debit/Credit card is handed in we will contact the appropriate Bank/Building Society. If they advise us to, we will destroy the card.

  7. After the designated duration, any unclaimed property shall be sent to a charity shop / recycling bins or disposed of properly.

2. Types of lost property kept and disposed:

  1. Larger items of property found such as coats or trainers shall be retained in the designated area for 28 days and will be disposed of on day 29.

  2. Items considered of value such as Jewellery and Electronics are kept for 28 days.

  3. We keep non-valuable lost property for 24 hours. Items kept for 24 hours include:

    1. Wet towels

    2. Wet clothes

    3. Goggles

  4. Items not kept include:

    1. Shampoo and shower gel

    2. Under garments

    3. Hairbrushes, combs or hair clips/bands

    4. Water bottles

3. Claiming lost property:

  1. Customers claiming items must sign for the item in the Lost And Found Property Log Book.

  2. To prevent issues, the existence of found items will be checked before informing the customer that the item has been found.

4. Legal liability:

  1. The management of Aspire Centre cannot be held responsible for property that is left behind and subsequently stolen or lost.

  2. We accept no liability for lost or stolen goods whilst on our premises unless as a direct result of our negligence. Once the item is found and record, we will make a reasonable attempt to return it to the rightful owner.

  3. Property stored in lockers is at your own risk.

  4. Cars parked in the car park and all contents in them are your responsibility and we will not accept liability for loss or damage.

  5. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time.
